PRESS RELEASE - 2010

Supply & Demand Chain Executive Announces Its 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards
Recognizing leading companies making sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategies

New York — November 8, 2010

Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine, the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, today announced the recipients of its 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards, recognizing companies that are making sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategies.

Market forces that include public pressure, government regulations and corporate social responsibility initiatives are driving enterprises to view "green" and "sustainability" as necessary components of their supply chain strategies. At the same time, Supply Chain as a function has emerged as a focal point of sustainability initiatives within the enterprise.

"Leading companies are recognizing sustainability as a potential competitive advantage in a time of supply constraints and demand volatility," said Andrew K. Reese, editor, Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "The 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards highlight the role of the supply chain as a key enabler of sustainability."

The 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards recognizes companies that are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains in the areas of Sourcing/Procurement, Fulfillment/Logistics, Operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain.

"The goal of the 'Green Awards' is to highlight a range of strategies and solutions that companies are employing to incorporate sustainability into the supply chain," Reese said. "Our readers can use this information as a baseline to assess their own efforts in this regard."

The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services that are assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals. "Our readers are corporate executives and line-of-business leaders who want to know about the supply chain solution and service providers that are enabling supply chain sustainability," Reese added.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive collected submissions for the 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards through an online nominations process. The magazine reviewed the submissions based on the clarity and content of the goals and strategy, the extent of the steps being taken, and the impact of the results to date and projected results.

From among the nominated companies Supply & Demand Chain Executive selected those firms that stood out for their projects to incorporate sustainability objectives into their own supply chains or to enable sustainability in their customers' supply chains.
